why is it that when you want to sell something that you paid lots for, people think they can have it for next to nought?

a lot of people don't like buying secondhand prams, the market is awash with them....

ps was the offer from one of the people who deal on here ( as a clue did they call you Hunni....and say "whatever they say i aint done nethin!)

But a pram is like a car. It depreciates hugely the minute you drive it out of Mothercare.

That's business. I don't know where you're selling it, but if it's eBay, I'd honestly consider yourself lucky you got even that as a offer.

Try the local newspaper, and set your price.

If you don't like the offer don't accept it.

Try telling people the price you want for it.

Personally I'd wonder why on earth you had a pram for sale that you only bought in April when it cost so much. It would make me think it was either difficult to use or a pile of crap tbh.

agreed, I put some baby bedding sets on ebay BN for £20 (much more in the shops) and was offered £6.00 - like hell I was oing to sell for that!

my advice - wait and you'll get it's worth, or keep it. I waited and it sold the next day for what I wanted

Seriously though, in answer to your question a)why would you spend £600 on a pram in teh firstplace??

b)it is secondhand and secondhand means 'cheap' to most. Some people are suspicious of baby equipment being sold so soon after buying so they wont want to pay a bomb to find out they've got faulty goods.

(Not saying yours is obviously, just the way people see it)

I got offered a joke price on here, too, and then sold the stuff elsewhere for what I asked, which was a very fair price.

I didnt think the p3 pramettes were £600? The pilko + which I think replaced the p3 is only £240 new on the m&p site, £150 for car seat.

a) Its a m&p one and came with all the gear. Hence the price tag.
b) Selling cos we need money asap, only able to do so cos got another older one free of a friend.
c) Said no to crap offers - why the hell would I want to give away something that expensive for free!!

i've seen some on ebay go for "260 ish depending on what's there - ie witht eh carry cot, footmuffs rian macs sun thingys (i'm not technical) normally a car seat, and also a pilko/stroller of some sort- with that as well those go for more.

i've found thou tbh not much is selling right now (might just be my stuff thou - I was assumin we're a bit close to xmas) what sort of a price did you have it up for?

Personally I wouldn't buy a second hand car seat, especially on ebay.

Tbh I think it's ridiculous paying so much for a pram unless you have loads of money. I don't know the reasons for you suddenly needing some money but perhaps if you'd bought a cheaper pram in the first place you'd have had some money in savings.

savings!! what thats again? bought it with help from family but thats not the point.

Original price was 200 for everything then 150 for pram with accessories.

I wouldnt by second hand car seat either, but doesnt stop me from trying to sell mine...

fwiw thou I do agree with you on the car seat one- that is one thing personally (along with the cot and bedding) I never got second hand. the car seat for obv reasons the other as H is a snob. and we had a lot of vouchers.
