Babyshowers??

Has any of you had a baby shower during these ‘troubling’ times? Keeping social distancing in mind, I’m not sure how to go about this.

I’m currently expecting our first and would love to hear what you have done?

Don't do it.

I attended a Zoom one.

Was good fun we sort of had a host who did quizzes and games and a little survey of guessing names, weight etc.

We sent a gift which they opened separately so it wasnt obvious if someone hadn't been able to afford one or compare purchases.

My friends did a virtual one for me.
I definitely didn't want to risk meeting in person when we re spread throughout the UK and it was lovely, they did some games and sent some gifts in the post for me and even found a local place to deliver me some afternoon tea (which was my plan to have that pre pandemic).

I don't 'do' baby showers but you don't throw one for yourself surely so isn't this something for your friends/family to consider rather than you?

You could have a zoom one, but honestly, I dont think in the times we are in that they are something that should be going ahead in the actual presence of people, and I say that as someone who is 37 weeks pregnant. Its a bit rubbish, but its the same as birthday parties or holidays abroad; it just doesnt make sense at the minute.

One does not throw a gift grab baby shower for oneself. It is something that a friend will arrange for you.

My sisters and close friends have asked us if we wanted to do something, but none of us have ever done a shower over Zoom so just wanted to hear what other people were doing.
