I posted on a previous thread about the mirena coil to say that I had been advised (by a Dr who could not get it out) that it was safe to leave it in. I have had various issues that lead me to see a gynecologist who said the same thing
A poster told me to get a second opinion which I have and was told that it should not have been left in and removed it - he said that pain and discharge I was suffering was not due to vaginal atrophy but due to the coil
All the issues that i was experiencing have now been resolved
