Has anyone else experienced this with their baby? He's 3.5 months, and at night he usually feeds every 3-4hrs and takes about 200ml of formula. Last few nights he has had a normal feed at 11pm but then all the other feeds he only takes about 20 ml if that. What's strange is he does the usual hunger signs- tossing and turning, panting and building up to cries, and when I lift him into my arms he is desperate for his milk and behaving really hungry. However as soon as he feeds after a few sips he's done- fast asleep and not hungry anymore. The same thing will happen all night and also when he wakes for his first "morning" feed.
This means that between 11pm and 9/10am he's only drinking a tiny amount. This would be fine if he was sleeping through but he still wakes desperately hungry every 3hrs or so. I've tried patting him to get him back to sleep without feeding but he starts to cry and shows all the hunger signs each time.
