Hi, was just wondering if anyone can help. I’ve been invited for an interview at DWP as a customer service advisor, can anyone tell me what sort of questions I might be asked? Thanks in advance.

Tell me a time when you've handled a difficult situation at work.

How would you have handled it differently?

AntiSocialDistancer Thanks

Talk about a time where you made a mistake and what you did to resolve the issue.

Google competency questions

"can you be unsympathetic and uncaring? If not, are you willing to learn?"

TooTardy · 14/10/2020 14:02

Good luck with the job application.

Apologies for my first reaponse; I have had a few awful interactions with DWP customer service personnel and my message was not appropriate, sorry.

DWP will be under the Civil Service Success Profiles won’t it? Did they tell you what behaviours they would be testing in the job application? Because the type of questions will completely depend on that.

givemewaffles · 14/10/2020 15:01

As PP said, most Civil service roles are interviewed under the Success profiles - there are usually 3/4 behaviours listed on the advert that they say you will be assessed on. You'd need to look at the relevant behaviours for the relevant grade to see what they're looking for. Usually it's STAR examples. Then usually there are strength based questions which you can't prepare for and they just want a quick response.
