To think you cannot moan about spoilers after the programme has aired?!

People on Twitter moaning about the official GBBO account tweeting about who went out this week. “Haven’t had a chance to watch it yet!” “It hasn’t aired in the US yet!” Being the two main complaints.

You see it on here too sometimes. People moaning about programmes being spoiled because they haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.

I think they should dry up, in all honesty. Totally fair where the programme hasn’t aired in the UK yet and other UK users spoil it. But ffs, just don’t follow the GBBO account if you don’t want it spoiled??

I was halfway through reading a book my mother had recommended when she said, ‘Ooh yes, that was good... it’s the one where she gets crippled, isn’t it?’

‘Not yet Mom, no...’ was my reply through gritted teeth...

Once it’s aired it’s fair game. Especially since it airs on a free to view channel

If people want to watch it at their leisure that’s fine but then they should carefully curate their media consumption to avoid spoilers, not expect the rest of the world to not talk about it

I’m sure there was a thread on here last year and someone mentioned Sirius Black dying in Harry Potter. Another poster was cross at the ‘spoiler’ - the bloody book’s been out for over ten years! That was the most ridiculous example I ever saw.

I remember on publication day of whichever one it was when Dumbledore died, I was NOT going to buy it, I wasn't bothered and was going to wait for the paperback. But then I was in Tesco and opened a copy at random and flicked to a random page and wouldn't you know it, the two lines I read were Dumbledore dying. I gasped a bit (and had to buy it obviously) and a lady standing near me went "OH FFS NO SPOILERS PLEASE!" at me, even though I hadn't said anything!
