What do my child's school know about my mental health?

I had a breakdown earlier in the year and was sectioned. Because of this, social services have been involved with my children/ family.
This means that we have meetings with people who are involved in my care and people from the children's school and the social worker too.

I am quite embarrassed and very aware of the stigma around being sent to hospital. I want to know what the school know about me medically. Would they know what I have been diagnosed with? Would they know I was sectioned? Would they know the symptoms etc?

I dont really like the idea of someone knowing my medical history when they don't need to.

Depends on the school, but likely the class teacher likely knows next to nothing - maybe that there is social services involvement but nothing more.

Certain safeguarding leads/members of SLT will have much more information, likely most of what social services know, although probably not your symptoms - but it will not be used as a source of gossip and it won’t be discussed outside of the safeguarding team unless absolutely necessary.

I hope you’re feeling better OP.

I would imagine the safeguarding team are well aware of everything that has happened. It would depend on what your symptoms were as to if they had been informed or not.

I doubt anyone outside of safeguarding knows anything at all.
