Ok so I ordered a 43inch 4K TV in the Amazon sale. I have now done a little research and a 50inch would be better as we will be sitting 6ft away.

I cancelled the 43inch which DH already said was a bit big and reordered the 50inch! I am now worried that this is too big and DH will go beserk our room is medium sized 15ft by 12ft ish. Help!

I love the competitive telly size thing on here Grin. Just waiting for the 'i watch telly on my iphone and don't know why anyone needs anything bigger' crew coming along.

I know some things never change! When I was child we were had a portable tv as big TVs were common! We would get a cinema screen and projector out at the weekends and that was OK.

I hate the fashion for humungous TVs! But each to their own!

So do I! I feel like a 43inch is a baby grin

When we got our 50 inch 4K earlier this year we spent ages watching David Attenborough on Netflix Grin

Seems there's a definite divide between those who are happy to watch everything on a 22 inch black and white telly from 1975 and those who want 85 inch surround sound cinema experience!

Our biggest is 73 inches and DH is itching to replace it with a projector so we can do 120 inches. Most of our TVs are 45-55. Our smallest is 25 and that is mounted near my soaking tub for the ultimate indulgence.

We are a tech loving, movie watching house. When Covid hit we replaced the furniture in one living room with theater seating.

Can you even see the entire screen at once sitting that close to such a big TV? It strikes me it'll be liking sitting on the front row on the cinema!

I know, expecting someone to tell us that the monochrome cathode ray tube set that their granny bought for the coronation is plenty big enough and anything else would be vulgar and non-U Grin

Every tv we have is sized properly
For the space. Like sitting in the middle of the theatre.
