So I went into my closet last night to check if I had a shirt ironed for work. Imagine my surprise when I found a bright pink cashmere pashmina hanging in the middle of my work clobber. It's on a plastic trouser hanger, with a plastic cover over it. I have honestly never seen it before. My DH and DS both denied putting it there. Where the hell has it come from? Shock

Did you pick up some dry cleaning and they accidentally handed you someone else’s item along with yours?

Spybot · 12/10/2020 21:24

Is it someone else's dry cleaning that has been slipped in amongst yours? Did you pick up dry cleaning recently? Otherwise.. you have a stylish ghost!

dontgobaconmyheart · 12/10/2020 21:27

Ultimately, unless you bought it prior and have forgotten about it, someone in the house has put it there. I'd want to know why that was being denied to be honest.

Xmas present you've found by accident maybe?

FlyMayBe · 12/10/2020 21:27

I haven't picked up any dry cleaning since the lockdown started.

I wouldn't mind having a stylish ghost - but I don't wear pink!

Do you have a cleaner or housekeeper or ironing lady?
I feel very fancy asking that, as if I'm thinking of them because I have them. Sadly not!

Littlepond · 12/10/2020 21:38

I once found a carrier bag in my house with a teddy bear, a large rock and an old bracelet in it. I never ever found out where it came from, it was just by the door one day.

Do you have a MIL who loves to tidy/reorganise closets?

Otherwise, I am with @dontgobaconmyheart.

FlyMayBe · 12/10/2020 22:16

Weirdly it looks like something my MIL may have worn, and she did like a plastic cover. But she departed this life in 2007, and didn't leave me any clothing.

No household staff, sadly. We have got a bloke who mows the lawn, but I can't see it being his colour really ...

Clearly DH or DS have put it there as a weird joke. No other explanation.
