To ask if you keep old pension statements?

I'm doing some long overdue filing and I've got pension statements going back for years. Is there any reason why I need to keep anything other than the most recent statements?

Yes, every single one. A colleague who retired last year had to provide the pension provider with info from the 1980's when there was a miscalculation. If he didn't have them he would have been £1,000 out. The company didn't have them.

Could you scan and then file them digitally.(email to yourself and then place into a folder you've created would be my advice) I've been saved by old paperwork info/ref numbers a few times in my life and I'm 30yrs from retiring!
