To retrain as an accountant

Single mum to two school aged children. My job right now is ok but the earning potential is limited. I really fancy a change
Has anyone retrained as an account? I'm not even sure how to go about doing this either . Any advice? Success stories? TIA

I’m an accountant - I like it but it’s not for everyone.

What qualifications do you currently have? What kind of exposure to accounts? What job do you do now?

What sort of salary are you hoping / looking for? It’s normally not overly great for the 3 years (or potentially 5 if you don’t have the right starting qualifications) of training.

I’m an audit manager and we’re crying out for staff so it’s a good safe career and if you work in practice it’s also fairly flexible - most of our managers are mums who pretty much set their own hours.
