I know that this isnt the right board for this but i know aibu gets lots of traffic and i need some info.

When i walk and my heel hits the floor, i sometimes get a weird funny bone sensation that runs from my heel to my fourth toe. Its not all the time but about 2 times a day. Anyone know what this is please?

Could it be plantar fasciitis?

Beaverdam100 · 10/10/2020 18:22

Thank you for responding. Ive looked it uo and it could well be that. I have been wearing trainers a little too small and have flat feet. The weird feel only happens when walking with no shoes on too. Thank you.

PF tends to be worse when the full weight is applied and the fascia is 'stretched' You can get tearing of the attachment to the heel which is really painful to weightbear
I had it once , came up completely out of the blue , I found putting a D shaped felt padding on the atch relieved it amd it spontaeously vanished .It was worse when I walked barefoot like going to the loo during the night . The pain actually made me feel sick .
You can apply a topical pain relief gel and roll your foot over a cold drinks can..
Make sure you have an arch suppport in your shoe .
No flips flops , ballet pumps or rubbishy fake Uggs (no support )

It could be the start of a Mortons Neuroma that tends to affect 2/3 or 3/4 intermetatarsal joints ( the ball of the foot )
Worse when you have a shoe on or squeeze your foot laterally .
You need to reduce the pressure on the side of the foot .

Ahh so it might be that your foot hasn;t properly gone through the gait cycle ( and if you're flat footed your foot has to over pronate and roll inwards ) because you know you'll be stubbing your toe on the short shoe box .
So you're crunching your toes and keeping your weight on the lateral side .

I should be a Podiatrist , Me Grin
