Mine is dancing with a hot dancer in a Strictly type competition. Sometimes it’s just about dancing with a hot dancer, other times it’s about everyone I know watching me and thinking how fabulous I look and move. In reality I’m fat with two left feet dancing round the kitchen! Grin Does anyone have a fantasy scenario in their head or am I the only saddo??!

Oh heck yes - these are what get me through the day most days. Most of them revolve around me being a lot slimmer and more attractive than I am - I am working on the slimmer bit.

My recent one - as you can tell by my username - is based around a series I came across it by accident on Netflix and I am addicted. First series I was rather enamoured by the lead male but in S2 I had been introduced to 'The Captain' and well, that was it.
I had a rather intense dream a few weeks ago which my DH got the benefit of when I woke.

Other, less romantic, day dreams consist of a lottery win (always substantial so I can pay off all mine and my family's mortgages etc) and having a gorgeous house which is immaculately tidy. I also have in-depth conversations with myself as to whether i would give up work or not. I always think yes but then think I would get bored.

Currently daydream about converting my home to a rental, and moving to a house share in London... I still work but spend my free time enjoying art galleries, theatre trips and Park Runs.

This has replaced a lottery win type daydream where I have a home in the city and a country cottage... I'm slightly worried that my brain's given me a more achievable day dream - it might end up happening and not be so perfect as I've imagined !

lasttimeround · 10/10/2020 13:10

Elaborate destiel fanfic. Currently Cas and Dean are in the early stages of a relationship. The sex is hot but Dean's going to have to tackle his anger issues. Before that I had a long term Harry Dresden gf fic going. The gf is an unashamed mary sue character. Its fun

OneFootintheRave · 10/10/2020 13:20

@ShortFatandDumpy

Yes. M8nes ridiculous.

I become a super famous sexy glamourous performer, usually a singer. I do this in revenge for the sad reality of my husband leaving me for someone 20 years younger than me. (This happened a few months agoSad)
So in my fantasy I'm on every tv channel and I'm so hot gorgeous and talented All my songs I sing have a fuck you or revenge undertone to them and the press report on the scandal that my chubby cheating husband dumped me for someone mediocre albeit younger and ive morphed in to the hottest sex symbol known to life on earth Grin. Everyone is shocked when they find my real age (48) because I'm so youthful looking. I bevomevthe face of Olay/L'oreal anti ageing cream. I'm on billboards and magazines.
Everyone we know thinks wow and my husband's bit of stuff he left me for feels wholly inadequate, my ex husband is desperate for recocilliation but I'm so famous and gorgeous I'm now dating Brad Pitt/Colin Firth/other gorgeous famous man and mixing with celebs I've no time for chubby ex husband.🤣😂🤣😂🤣

In reality I'm tone deaf and despite my heartbreak weight loss still on the chubby side, 5ft tall and at 48 can't move anything like I pretend I can in my fantasies. I'm also not visually 20 years younger like I am in my fantasy.

But my real life us utter shit right now and this escapism is wholly nuts but lifts my mood.

This is brilliant! Grin Whatever gets you through this difficult time.
vampirethriller · 10/10/2020 13:39

Mine are:
It's a while after the end of the world and I'm going from place to place living on what I find, with a horse drawn caravan.

I've won the euromillions and I'm starting my charitable housing association, buying abandoned properties etc.
Both good for bedtime if I can't sleep.

Holothane · 10/10/2020 13:53

I’m with the 12th dr or Star Wars one, others have I’m in die hard let’s just Hans Gruber lives and we go off together. I’ve written stories down 23 years worth they are my day dream ones and keep me going when life’s crap.

roxisolerenshaw · 10/10/2020 14:09

I had no idea anyone else did this!! I have a completely different life in my head and it's of great comfort to me Smile

iswhois · 10/10/2020 14:16

I've done this for as long as I remember

I have about three on the go and they vary overtime depending on which celebrity I fancy at the time

I also do it to get to sleep as well, I really look forward to it

nibdedibble · 10/10/2020 14:18

Yes!! I’m definitely a maladaptive daydreamer! Sometimes the urge is so strong I have to hide away to do the daydreaming or it won’t stop. Mostly it’s under control though. I love bedtime, I get to sink into my story. I’ve done this for all my life. I remember telling my mum my story, aged about 4. I used to wonder if it was quite sad, am I crazy or inadequate? I don’t actually care now, it’s such an amazing self-soothing activity.

Clearly LOADS of us do it, so I wonder why it’s not acknowledged more?

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 10/10/2020 14:33

Oh wow I didn't realise others did this to the same extent that I do. I've had a daydream/fantasy reality going on in my head since I was a child so at least 25-30years 🙈
In it I'm a secret orphan being raised as a normal person but really I'm a billionaire princess and super important. Sometimes I have superpowers too. I love dreaming about the looks on everyone faces when they realise how important and special I am.
I've noticed I daydream more when I'm not completely happy with life then when I'm very content. My usual day dream time is when I'm walking the dog and I can just switch off from reality and my normal boring life

Oysterbabe · 10/10/2020 14:48

One of the worse bits of WFH is that I don't have my 40 minute walk to and from work anymore. I used to disappear into fantasy during that time and really look forward to and enjoy it.

recklessruby · 10/10/2020 14:57

I win the lottery and travel the world with my family and my cat and live in an RV always moving on.
When i do need a base its a massive castle in the scottish highlands where i will never be too hot again.
I have no neighbours and an abundance of cats.
I have a massive 12 foot stone wall around my estate.
In reality i m a 52 year old teacher and sick of the fact that i cant go anywhere in half term due to covid restrictions.

CharityRoyall · 10/10/2020 15:51

Mine is really boring but I just fantasise constantly about winning the lottery and handing in my notice at work. All I want is a house to renovate! Extremely dull but I fantasise about it all the time 😂

Oysterbabe · 10/10/2020 16:01

I have a lottery one too. I have an ongoing agreement with my best friend that if either of us won we'd split it 50/50. Neither of us play anymore. In my fantasy I'm telling her about the win and also planning how I'll split my half between my family.

Ponoka7 · 10/10/2020 16:09

Mine is lottery wins, either around £1.8 million (I'm not greedy and like living in the NW) or the £10k a month, set for life. I'm mortgage free, so either will do me.

Or a walking dead scenario.

spanieleyes · 10/10/2020 16:10

I think lots of people have lottery winning based daydreams and I'm an avid rightmove peruser just in case. But I also have a weird daydream where I'm some sort of super- athlete ( think Usain Bolt crossed with Jessica Ennis-Hill,) and win every event at the Olympics! In reality I'm a 60 year old with arthritis but hey!

Hangingover · 10/10/2020 16:12

Giving evidence at my ex's trial because he's murdered someone.

HildegardVonBingen · 10/10/2020 16:13

Standard lottery win obviously, following which I jack in my job and retrain as a world leading art historian.

Or when I'm in the kitchen singing (badly) I imagine that Simon Cowell or a record producer is wandering past and knows on the door, bowled over by the beauty of my voice, and insists I sign a recording contract immediately. I am SUCH a narcissist on the inside.

OfTheNight · 10/10/2020 16:14

Nothing too amazing. I day dream I have lots of close friends, Sometimes i day dream I’m a historian. So I’m not very exciting!

Stephenfrylust · 10/10/2020 17:17

I have done this since early childhood too. Totally believed I had a horse and told everyone about it! Keep my fantasy myself these days!

Mine have got darker with time. Lots of being kidnapped and stuck somewhere. Almost like coming back to my normal boring life is a relief?

I do like happy daydream too, holidays, living abroad etc but they dontkeep coming back to The same darker themes. I think I need therapy!!

dontlikebeards · 10/10/2020 17:52

I have found my people! I do this, mine involve love and relationships normally. I will have the same one for a few months then it will change to a new scenario. Mine always involve music, either I can sing or someone else involved can sing. I love bedtime so I can escape to my little world!

elfycat · 10/10/2020 17:56

I creatively write fantasy and sci-fi so I have lots and lots of plotlines, characters and settings playing in my head all the damn time.

I also use a repeated 'perfect day out in London with my daughters' fantasy to get to sleep. I add more details as I go. Picnic in a park followed by visiting the Hintze Hall at the Natural History Museum. Pity we couldn't attempt it this year.

rosegoldivy · 10/10/2020 17:57

I win the lottery every single night b4 I go to sleep. I Tell my work I'm not coming back ever. I've even picked out my million pound house on rightmove.

Beaverdam100 · 10/10/2020 18:25

Being alone with tom hardy. I will say nomore.

musicinspring1 · 10/10/2020 18:28

I have found my people !!! I am the only person I know in real life who admits to doing this ! I always have a long running storyline going on ...
