Due to social distancing and bathing in hand sanitiser

I would say we have

Yes, definitely

VerbenaGirl · 08/10/2020 21:06

Yes, until DDs went back to school and DD1 brought home a stinking cold that we have all now had. Really low sickness absence at work too, but creeping up now!

Shylo · 08/10/2020 21:07

Hard to tell given we rarely get colds when the Weathers mild .... now it’s turned though we’ve all been really unwell

vlarder · 08/10/2020 21:09

I wonder if this will negatively impact the immune system in the very young

No I've got my second stinking cold now since lockdown, two weeks in and still going. My 3yo twins haven't had a cold though (yet) which is usually where I get them from Confused

EachDubh · 08/10/2020 21:12

Nope, work in a school and have 2 kids at another school so have had cold after cold after cold🤧

anon2334 · 08/10/2020 21:14

No more or less than usual to be honest. Same with everyone around me it seems

dudsville · 08/10/2020 21:15

I've not been ill since March. Usually I catch most bugs going around. I used to use public transport and easy lunch on the go between meetings. I now think this was a disgusting habit as it was usually a sandwich eaten with my grubby-with-public transport-hands.

NameyNoo92 · 08/10/2020 21:16

Loved lock down due to the lack of colds and bugs we got.

A week back at school both kids had a cold which then passed to me. 2 weeks later i got another (I work in a school)

I'm usually good at not catching them, or having them mild enough to not bother me. I think my immune system has gone on strike after not having any mild colds for 7 months!!! These last 2 have left me exhausted and so run down (not covid, tested and negative)

GetRid · 08/10/2020 21:16

Nothing at all March until September when the kids came home with awful colds caught at school - really heavy ones.

elliejjtiny · 08/10/2020 21:18

Yes definitely. I had one really bad cold in August but nothing before or since.

raspberryk · 08/10/2020 21:19

No

bingowingsmcgee · 08/10/2020 21:20

About the same for us, but the back to school cold hit harder than usual

aLilNonnyMouse · 08/10/2020 21:20

This is the longest I've ever gone without getting ill. I normally get a respiratory infection every 6-10 weeks and each one means two weeks in bed and a course of steroids.

I really hope people keep this up and I'm able to have a much more normal life after this is all over.

purpleme12 · 08/10/2020 21:21

Yes I've not been poorly since last year I think. But then I've not been at work since march!

millymollymoomoo · 08/10/2020 21:23

No

Sirzy · 08/10/2020 21:23

Ds is a severe asthmatic but has been pretty stable to past few year. Since going back to school we have had nothing but issues which I am putting down to him being isolated for so long and now back being exposed to normal viruses

My 3yo is due to start nursery in Jan & I'd considered not sending her until this thought occurred to me. As much as I don't want any of us getting ill, I don't want to be depriving her of a chance to develop a healthy immune system!

wontletmelogin · 08/10/2020 21:41

I was unwell in March - mild temp, hacking cough, negative swab.

Have been fine since then!! Worked throughout in healthcare but usually have two colds at least since then

refusetobeasheep · 08/10/2020 21:58

Got a cold right now. Bang on schedule, after kids have been back at school a few weeks!

Aragog · 08/10/2020 22:18

No!

Since going back to school I've spent most of the time feeling ill.

I currently have another cold - this time it's on my chest.

So far I've had a sore throat, a normal standard come and also a vomiting bug.

I'm clinically vulnerable so hadn't been in the classroom since March and it's now showing. Infant school children like to share their bugs and constant anti bac and cleaning hasn't prevented them doing so. You can't social distance and we don't wear masks in schools generally.

Nomnomarrgh · 08/10/2020 22:49

I’m dying of sneezing at the moment.

TartanSlippers · 08/10/2020 22:54

I'm sitting here, sneezing like mad with snot everywhere. 3 out of 4 in this house has a rotten cold at the moment - the 4th had it last week.
