so covid isn't going anywhere, its raining, we might be locked in again and we don't know what Christmas is going to look like. People around me seem pretty blue right now and I get it. BUT, I do love autumn, so can we share some lovely things to look forward to over the coming months?

I'll start, in no particular order:

Sleeping in a cold room when you're all toasty under the duvet
Costa Black Forest hot chocolate
Blankets
Christmas spiced candles
Mulled wine
Bobble hats (especially on ds who is 2 and the cutest cute thing ever to be cute) and scarves
Winter boots
Proper food: cottage pie, stews and baked potatoes, with warm puddings.
Gingerbread
When your cheeks go all freezing when you walk into the warm from the cold
Bonfires
Autumn leaves and their colour
The new hill house starting tomorrow!

Anyone else care to share some loveliness?

Wearing a jacket. I love wearing a jacket so I can put all my things in the pockets and don't need a bag.
Wearing boots because I love boots.
The smell first thing in the morning when I open the door for the dog to go out and its cold.
Usually I would say Christmas lattes, but I'm pregnant, so Christmas flavour hot chocolate. Costa did a burnt orange one a couple of years ago. It was lovely. I'm ever hopeful they bring it back.
Also usually Halloween parties, bonfire night and the Christmas fayres, but I doubt any of that will be exciting or happening this year.
The colours of the leaves.

Yes I love wearing a jacket and a scarf.

I’ve just ordered a merino jumper from Woolovers.

The silver lining to face masks is that I won't be getting a red runny nose from the cold 😂

Cosy throws
Long evenings with winter cocktails or red wine

Why is Autumn so magical? I really like sunshine and objectively you're supposed to feel happier when it's warm and sunny, but everything just feels so special when the days get shorter and the weather goes colder. I thought this feeling would go away as I got a bit older but I never fail to get that tingle of excitement and sense of magic come October time, and it stays right through to mid January :)

Autumn is my favourite time of year, crisp leaves underfoot, the colours of leaves on trees, crisp air, seeing you breath, refreshing winds, rain lashing against windows, log fires, wrapping up, not having to get up early to see a sunrise, soups, blankets on sofas, boots and jeans. Hot chocolate, electric blankets. Clothes in autumnal colours. Nights snuggled on the sofa reading
