Kid and I have had our lives turned upside down by KidsDad’s relapse on alcohol after years of sobriety. We’ve moved in with relatives far away because we need support, kid has additional needs.
KidsDad is currently in hospital after a bad fall causing a spinal fracture, lucky not to have been killed. One consequence is immediate detox.
He says he wants to stay sober now.
He’s got to be in a rigid collar 24/7 for 12 weeks. There seems to be an assumption that he’ll be discharged back to the flat where he had the accident (he rents privately, we didn’t all live together Before our move).
AIBU to hope there is some physical rehabilitation or care support available in these times?
