I have a friend who’s been going through a tough time with a breakup and redundancy.

She’s done so well to get a new job and I want to send her a congratulations present. I don’t want to get a voucher for nails or a facial as she’s not too keen on going at the moment. I was just wondering if anyone has any nice ideas for around the price of a nice bottle of champagne or flowers, just to be a bit different? I’ll send those if I can’t think of anything else, but that’s where you guys come in Grin

I sent a pretty tin of biscuits for her birthday, but otherwise open to any suggestions!

What would you like to receive, Mumsnetters? TIA!

I got my brother a leather bound notebook with his name on it and a pen holder for a promotion. He loved it.

I'd get her a hamper of biscuits and chocolates. Nothing massive, but something she wouldn't buy for herself.

I lf she has a garden or a balcony I would buy her a seed box. Like beauty boxes, but for seeds. Every season you get some new stuff to plant.

Thanks all, I am going to look at notebooks etc on notonthehighstreet! The garden idea is lovely but she doesn’t do gardening; however I have other friends who enjoy it, so will remember it!

The hamper I might order for me 😈
