I'm a big Rilo Kiley fan (hence the username) but it's only recently I've really listened to the lyrics of A Better Son/Daughter and it resonated - powerfully and painfully.

What are your songs that get you?

Bob Dylan Shooting Star reminds me of my older brother who died 4 years ago. As does While my Guitar Gently Weeps.

Freda Payne - band of gold ... my mums funeral song. I love it, and hate it!

A bit cliche but Landslide by Fleetwood Mac really struck me when I was wanting to end a long term relationship - particularly ‘Well I've been afraid of changing, Cause I built my life around you’.

‘This must be the place’ by Talking Heads makes me think of DP so that’s very important to me.

And more positive - Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing in the Dark’ reminds me of being young and dancing with my friends, slightly tipsy and flushed from the hot dancefloor.
