To expect our money back

We're moving house today. DH booked a van from 9am today until 9am tomorrow. The van place said they'd phone us to say when to get the van because they don't want people congregating due to Covid. We phoned a few times this morning to an answerphone saying they don't open until 10am. Phoned at just gone 10 and they said they'd phone back "shortly" with when to collect. Phoned about 10.40 to say collect around 11.10. DH collected the van, filled up with petrol, it started to rain and the wipers don't work. Phoned them and they said to bring it back and we'll get another one.
So, now we've paid for over three hours of time with the van that we haven't used (given that we paid £150 for the 24 hours, that's £17.50) plus about £60 in fuel that we didn't get to use (because they took that van back).
Surely we should get our money back? (Or, at least, some of it?)

What did they say about the fuel?
Are they extending your rental for a few hours?

For sure you should get the fuel money back, and potentially a three hour extension on the rental.
