Sorry I know IABU to post here but have just subscribed to The Spectator magazine (print version) and can't find any info on what day of the week it's delivered...
Can anyone shed light?

We get ours on Friday but occasionally it’s a few days late 🤷🏻‍♀️

You don't think it's sensible to read a wide variety of news sources? Subscriptions to the Spectator have rocketed in recent months.

Prospect Magazine all the way Smile
FunDragon · 02/10/2020 22:50

My dad reads it and thinks it is gospel and I believe he typically gets his on a Saturday.

Tootletum · 02/10/2020 22:54

Fridays. I'm a Labour voter. Just fancied a different outlook. Or maybe getting old and therefore conservative with small c.

What a ridiculous attitude. People should be encouraged to read a variety of sources rather than have their ideas constantly affirmed by staying within their echo chamber. Do you think we should ‘cancel’ it because you don’t like it?!?

We got a subscription as a wedding present 8 years ago. I lean left, but I’ve found it highly engaging and challenging in a very positive way.

I'm guessing you read the Guardian and nothing but then? I have subscribed as I am a particular fan of Julie Bindell - her most recent article in there about the porn industry is worth a read if you haven't already... And I'll happily continue to put money in Douglas Murray's pocket following my recent purchase of his book, The Madness of Crowds (which may or may not be lost on you by the sounds of things).

ODFOD. Firstly, reading a range of opinions is a good thing. It’s not like OP has subscribed to Nazi Weekly.

And secondly, much as I’m a dyed-in-the-wool Guardian reader, I’ve found The Times Andy to an extent The Spectator, to have more balanced, less hysterical reporting during the Covid pandemic.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 03/10/2020 08:18

*And, not Andy. WTF is up with my autocorrect this morning?!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 03/10/2020 08:21

I’ve just signed up to a subscription and my first one arrived yesterday. And I’ve never even voted Tory Grin

Me neither! Isn't it funny the perception some people have... I wonder whether the PP has ever even read it?

Based on the articles I’ve read online over the past year I’d say it’s hard to pigeon hole it as anything other than maybe libertarian? Which is maybe old school Tory but I don’t think reflects the party as it is now.

TheKeatingFive · 03/10/2020 10:13

It’s been very critical of Boris. Particularly of late.

StoneofDestiny · 03/10/2020 10:23

😂😂 At least this post shows preconceived ideas and assumptions are shared across a broad political spectrum 😂😂

This ^

That's far too subtle for a lot of people to grasp though, as it flies in the face of what passes for their "political understanding" (!);

All conservatives are BAD
All labourites are GOOD - and you'd better agree with them, or you're a bigoted, right-wing bastard.
