Ok so the area I live in is a close knit cul de sac with young families and a few elderly individuals who live alone. We have been having problems with bogus workmen the last few months and one neighbour lost several hundred pounds for work never actually finished. Today as I was heading out with my 3 DC and dog for a walk there was a tree surgeon. My eldest decided he needed the loo.... typical so we stood and waited. I had a funny feeling so I was watching this tree surgeon at my neighbours door who has been shielding as he has cancer and is 87. No card or credentials were shown, my neighbour told him he already has a gardener, he almost went into the house to " go check hedges in back" but my neighbour closed the door. I spoke up at this point and said we were a "no cold caller" zone and he said that's not what he was doing..... but what else do you call turning up unannounced and using pressure tactics to get work? Anyway, at that point my son came back and we started our dog walk. We walked past their van double parked and I just had a funny feeling so took a photo of liscense plate to share on our street WhatsApp. As I was walking I hear someone shouting and this man is shouting and running after me and my kids, demanding why I took photos of his van. He was filming me and my children demanding my full name and address which I of course didn't give him. What got me worried is that he had filmed my children without my permission. AIBU to want to report this to 101? What would they even do? I was just trying to keep my neighbour safe 😔
