Prayers don't affect the outcome of anything so no.
I don't hope he dies but I do hope he gets ill enough to give him a serious shock in the hope that that experience may change the way he deals with it afterwards.
Interestingly it has been proven in studies that when people are "prayed for" they express improved outcomes for medical treatment etc saying they feel better.
But this is only if they are told they are are being prayed for, the actual act of prayer doesnt affect the outcome. It's simply a person who is told that everyone is actively hoping/trying/thinking for them they feel better.
