Can I learn from your experiences of how you saved yourself from a hassle by taking a precaution in time or stopped something from getting worse?
I am sat here fuming, having spent about an hour on mending the sleeve of an expensive winter coat for DC. I could have spent about five minutes on it when I first noticed the broken thread but I kept putting it off.
So I thought I should ask for your experiences rather than learning things the hard way. The next winter coat I buy for any of the DCs is getting its sleeves and arm pits reinforced the day I buy it! Grin

I do a lot of batch cooking on a Sunday's , when I first started doing it last year I always left all the washing up till I had finished and it would take me nearly as long to wash everything as it did to do the cooking .
So now I wash everything as soon as I am done with it , no putting it down for a minuet hour it gets washed right away.
I am not sure if it actually saves me time as it all still needs doing but it feels like it does so that'll do me Smile

Ps no electric dish washer here .

Buttons. Whenever I get a new coat/jacket with buttons, I always take a minute to put a small coat of clear nail polish over the thread at the back of the button (as long as I can access it). That way, they always stay attached to the garment.

I used to sit smoking on a very wobbly bar stool in my garage (oh, the glamour). Spent half a year thinking "this stool is really wobbly now...I should probably do something, it feels like it's going to break".

It did break one day and I literally fell on my arse. It hurt. I have a new stool now.
