Colleague in for their final redundancy meeting and clearly upset.
Manager asks if said colleague can have their photo taken for the work facebook page telling everyone that after 13 years, they are leaving and want to wish them all the best. Colleague clearly says no and management seem disappointed.

Jesus, what is wrong with them?

Your poor colleague.

contrmary · 01/10/2020 13:10

The usual corporate bullshit, wanting to create an impression that they care about their staff whilst clearly demonstrating they don't give a fuck.

iklboo · 01/10/2020 13:10

That's terrible! She's not leaving of her own volition and her going is something to celebrate.

'FB - this is Alison. She was with us for 13 years. She was so great we made her redundant'.

I'm totally on her side.

IWantThatName · 01/10/2020 13:24

Yes that! They get to take the photo but only if they agree she gets to write the caption. Grin

TheBeatGoesOn · 01/10/2020 14:38

It was me and I am glad I am not alone in thinking this.

OP posts:
CitizenFame · 01/10/2020 14:43

That’s awful. Sorry OP. The only photo they’d get from me is sticking my middle finger up to the camera with one hand and holding a “fuck [name of company]” sign in the other.

OrigamiOwl · 01/10/2020 15:26

That is massively insensitive.

fahrt · 01/10/2020 15:29

Bloody hell bunch of twats

potter5 · 01/10/2020 15:57

You poor thing. Well done for not agreeing. They are extremely insensitive. What a bunch of wankers!!

Hope you get another job soon.

TheYeaSayer · 01/10/2020 16:14

All the delicacy of a flying brick.

Well done for saying no, OP.

Tossers.

MJMG2015 · 01/10/2020 16:20

Insensitive twats.

Hope you can find a great news job 🤞🏼

mabelandivy · 01/10/2020 16:23

Wow - so insensitive. I'd be tempted to put a review on Glass Door about the way they treat their staff.

GarlicMonkey · 01/10/2020 16:27

I'm so sorry. They're twats & didn't deserve you.

AntiSocialDistancer · 01/10/2020 16:30

Arseholes. Best of luck in finding a new job Flowers

Plussizejumpsuit · 01/10/2020 16:30

Wtf?! This is mental!

Plussizejumpsuit · 01/10/2020 16:31

Just read it was you. So sorry op. Honestly some people though!

Kindnessandcourage · 01/10/2020 16:55

😳😳😳 Oh wow. That's unbelievable.

Pelleas · 01/10/2020 18:45

What a bunch of hypocrites.

mbosnz · 01/10/2020 18:48

What a bunch of self-serving, tone deaf wankers.

Lilimoon · 01/10/2020 18:53

Total bastards. I hope you are ok OP.

Shxx · 01/10/2020 19:13

Would have told them to do one.

I in the past had been asked to train my replacement when I was being made redundant.

OutOnMyArse · 01/10/2020 19:17

Christ on a bike OP you are definitely not being unreasonable!! I'm going through redundancy now and my employer would be told exactly where they could stick their photo, shortly before I logged them out of all their social media accounts and changed the passwords Wink

Hope you're ok x
