I know a few months back hospital a&Ed were empty. Wondering i they are still the same or if more people are going.

I was at mine the Sunday before last, and I was literally the only person there until just before I got called in. Got there at about 7.50am and was called in at 8.10- ish. Was also there 4 days earlier than that, in the afternoon, and was out (having had an unpleasant emergency procedure done!) in under 2 hours. Place was not empty that day, but not crowded either.

MissConductUS · 30/09/2020 20:30

We're back to normal intake numbers in the ED where I am in New York. There is a bit of a covid spike happening, but it's in very specific areas.

BrumBoo · 30/09/2020 20:32

Had to take my eldest to be checked over after an accident the other day, the queue for reception was snaking around down a corridor. Luckily they had a separate children's area otherwise we'd have been waiting quite a while. This was a weekday lunchtime, city hospital.

Fluffybutter · 30/09/2020 20:35

Empty .
Got an x ray and the results in under an hour last week

BeyondMyWits · 30/09/2020 20:36

Ours got downgraded to minor injuries. Hidden from public scrutiny by the covid madness. Not busy at all now.

But the a&e in the city is jam packed all hours every day.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/09/2020 20:36

Not checked for a while but numbers were. Where near normal last few times I've looked on the computer.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/09/2020 20:37

*nowhere

Sorryusernamealreadyexists · 30/09/2020 20:41

Twisted my ankle over the weekend, possibly a handful of people and my XRay was done within 45 minutes of me being there. Large town hospital serving a large area.

I know a couple of people who work in 2 large A&Es who’ve been twiddling their thumbs throughout the pandemic.

I spend lots of time in a+e due to my role. Patient numbers are definitely increasing a lot now but nothing unusual. However the staffing for us is definitely down from usual

iHaveACold · 30/09/2020 20:45

I went recently and was back to normal. I waited 4 hours to be seen (Hillingdon)

sallyisstarstruck · 30/09/2020 20:46

Had to go to mine on a Sunday afternoon after an accident a couple of weeks ago. In all I was there about 4 hours, including a CT scan and being patched up. It wasn't busy, there were maybe 6 or 7 other people waiting in the same area.

kimlo · 30/09/2020 20:49

I was in the childrens a+e last week and you have to walk through the adults to get to it. Both were normal.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 30/09/2020 20:50

This will totally depend on where you are in the country, COVID rate wise.

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 30/09/2020 20:50

Empty.

Drogonssmile · 30/09/2020 20:59

Fairly empty and I'm in one of the worst hotspots. On Monday there were 5 critical patients in who had a positive COVID test result.

Coldnights · 01/10/2020 19:36

Sounds like a mix then
