What is a hun?

I’ve seen this pop up a few times in threads eg ‘the sort of thing huns like’ or ‘that website is full of huns’

What exactly is a hun? Is it just somebody who says ‘hun’ a lot? What things are supposedly liked by huns?

It's a filthy and disgusting term used for people from the loyalist community in N Ireland.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 30/09/2020 22:31

I think you already knew op Hmm

There are enough snide comments about the type of women who use the term on here

IsolationQueen · 30/09/2020 22:31

Wow... well isn’t this depressing.

I’m shocked by how judgemental many of the replies are on this thread. And, sadly, many of those people who you are making a mockery of, will be lovely, decent human beings.

Give me a “hun” over this condescending snobbery any day!!

Nice to see women supporting women.

Hmm looking at a lot of the ‘fiat500 twitter’ and ‘hun’ tweets a lot of it just reminds me of the type of thing my nieces post on social media, both are intelligent girls at uni, it’s just the sort of stuff that a lot of teen/early 20s girls often post about?

In Glasgow it's a sectarian name for a Rangers football fan. Also a sectarian name for Protestants

@PickleCustard
Yeah, I was gonna say a sweet german. Southern women started this a long time ago, I believe, but waitstaff only place I (used to) hear it.

It's basically used in a condescending manner, imo, unless coming from your Mama. Mine doesn't.
Sounds like you guys are being talked down to, on some level.
