Not sure if there is another thread, but it’s sad news, she was 78.
The greatest feminist song ever sung by a formidable woman

Oh, thats why her songs are all over Twitter.

Very sad. Anthems to my youth

BigChocFrenzy · 30/09/2020 11:15

Oh no
She was a trailblazer, an icon to many of us in the 1970s
Difficult to think of her as old and suffering from dementia

Giggorata · 30/09/2020 11:24

Another building block to the Feminism of the 70s.
Apparently she thanked a female god at an award ceremony.
RIP Helen.

Agreed. A fabulous feminist song. RIP Helen.

The soundtrack of all our family car journeys in the 70's.
May she rest in peace.

oh how sad.
loved

You And Me Against The World is another beautiful song Helen used to sing, and her version of I Don’t Know How To Love Him from JCS is great.

Oh no, that's made me sad, I loved her in Pete's Dragon and Candle on the Water is one of my all time favourite songs. The owner of the little hotel I used to clean at weekends as a teenager used to blast her music out of the sound system when all the guests were out too.
