Does your heartbeat speed up when you want sex?

I have a conundrum. My libido has fucking rocketed in the last week since my endocrinologist increased my thyroid medication. I literally cannot stop craving sex and the more, erm, eager I get, the more my heart races. I think an overactive thyroid can cause an increase in sex drive and it definitely can cause a fast heart rate, so I'm getting a bit worried - but it was honestly such a tiny increase in meds and my thyroid hormone was very low?

I have been having episodes of palpitations and other symptoms for the last few years, and did a tilt table test for POTS but didn't faint. So although I 'failed' the POTS test my cardiologist in London essentially said it was nothing to worry about, it was from low blood pressure, and to eat lots of salt. I don't live in the UK anymore and don't have a cardiologist here yet.

This is long but - is it normal for you for your heart rate to get fast if you have the major horn? Do you notice your heartbeat? The last time I was like this in terms of sex drive was in my twenties and I don't remember the heart thing then but I wouldn't have been worried about it then if you see what I mean?

I really don't want to ring my endocrinologist to discuss this.

Personally that only happens when I'm about to orgasm. 🤔

the finger pulse meter readers are pretty cheap, you could get one and monitor it at different times of the day, if you are tachy a lot I's say it was due to meds increase not sex related and worth getting checked.

You can still have pots without fainting!

I wouldn't mind a bit of whatever you're on to be fair. I can never be arsed 🤣

Yep have a pulse ox meter. The number seems to hang out between 80 and 90 a fair bit when sitting down doing nothing.

It jumps up to about 130 if I'm exerting myself loading the dishwasher for example Hmm but if walking will steady out about 100, but has been like this for months now. Feels awful when it's over 120 when I've not done anything like running, etc. Just so weird.

I don't mind the libido but just a bit concerned I may keel over at a critical moment if my heart explodes or something Grin
