to send my friend daily updates on my son's bowel movements

My sister sends me daily updates on whether or not her son has had a poo or not.

Fair enough, we potty trained our toddlers within about a couple of months of each other, and my nephew had some dramas around pooing, but I've been receiving these updates for about 3/4 months now! I'm getting beyond caring!

Naturally I sympathise, listen, and make all the right noises but I think I need to vent here because it's annoying me!

I love my sister and nephew so I do care a little about how he's doing etc, but I don't need daily updates really Grin She's a woman obsessed Shock

Up the ante and start sending her photos of yours?

VettiyaIruken · 28/09/2020 17:52

To clarify.
I meant your toddler's.

indoorbike · 28/09/2020 17:53

I honestly think she'd just start sending pictures back!

Just want it to stop!

No no, Do send her pics of your poo.
Power move

No no go with the first comment

indoorbike · 28/09/2020 17:54

To clarify, my title was to point out how ludicrous is it!

Does she phone or does she text/whatsapp? If the latter I would just ignore it. Respond normally to normal messages but ignore the poo updates. Hopefully eventually she'll get the message. One day she'll look back and cringe about this!

Funnily enough, it's exactly what I do. I ignore any toilet related chat and always respond as normal to everything else.

Unfortunately the 'everything else' is few and far between at the moment!

When potty training was brand new for all of us, I didn't mind at all. But months and months have gone by now!

That's your problem. Ignore every message. Eventually it should get through to her that sending messages like this to someone who blatantly couldn't care less is a bit of a waste of time.

Thatbliddywoman · 28/09/2020 18:18

Friend or sister? I'm a tad confused

Yes agree. The last couple of weeks I've stopped replying to those message when it's not completely obvious I'm ignoring them
