Sorry first post but I’ve been following the board for years and have read some great advice on here. No idea if this is the right place to put it. Anyone with knowledge of genital herpes I want to know if your IGG number stays the same or does it go up the longer you have had the virus in your body? For example if it is low would you assume that it was recently acquired? Back story husband has just had an outbreak (we are married 10 years) had the blood tests - I don’t have it and never have - he has it with a low IGG of 1.5. I’m trying to figure out if he has cheated. He says he hasn’t.

Not sure but bumping this up the board for you as i am sure there are a couple of sexual health professionals on here, hopefully someone can help.

OP, I would ask this on the honeycomb forum. There are some very knowledge people on this subject.

There is nonway of telling how long he has had the virus. He could have had it for years and years with no symptoms and no outbreaks

You can’t use the IgG value as a way of telling how long he has had it I’m afraid. It’s entirely possible he has had it for years or he could have caught it 6 months ago, no way of telling from that.
