To donate these items to charity?

Delivery fuck up.

I ordered an item from a private seller, delivered by hermes. The label from my item came off my package during transit and stuck itself to a parcel from Asos.

I noticed the mistake straight away - but the Hermes delivery driver had already logged it as delivered and refused to take it back.

I contacted my seller who apologised and refunded ( one off item no chance of replacement).

I contacted Hermes who wouldn’t speak to me as I was neither sender nor recipient of the parcel received. So I contacted Asos as it is their parcel that I have.

Their customer service is beyond crap. All want is a returns so I can send it back without having to pay for a parcel that isnt mine.

Most of their email responses seem to be drafted by a computer responding to key words ( don’t even get me started on their phrasing “wanna help you” ??? please).

After almost 2 weeks of going backwards and forwards they have requested that I register and set up a customer account with them in order to generate the returns. I have refused to do this as I am not their customer and never intend to be.

My response to them suggested that I would donate the items to charity. And their response? “Sorry we sent you the wrong item. Please send us your customer number....”

AIBU to just get rid if they can’t send a sensible reply ( or have any means of phoning them and speaking to a person.)?

What about the original owner of the asos parcel? Is their address on it? Under your sticker that got stuck to it ? Could you pass it on to them ?

Otherwise just leave it. Give the stuff away if you have no interest in it.
