Private Health Insurance question for those that have it.

Not really an AIBU, but here for the traffic. Question for those that do have private health insurance, do you search round every year for the best deal (similar to car/house insurance) or do you just stick to the same provider. I've had private health insurance for about 5 years now and have never claimed but notice that my premium has gone up again (as it has done every year I think). Is it the done thing to switch every year to the cheapest/best deal or is everyone just sticking with who they are with for years?

You can switch but if you ever have a treatment for something it would then be excluded with the next provider, so until that happens you'd be fine to shop around.

It depends on your health/claim record or whether you want to take the moratorium approach. I have run a number of compare healthcare tender exercises and it is hellish difficult to actually compare companies. Personally, I have been with WPA for a number of years/claims and been impressed with them.
