Coronavirus scam call

Posting for traffic, don't care if you hate it Grin

Not me but a friend on FB has said she received a call from 'Track and Trace' telling her she'd come into contact with someone who had tested positive. They wouldn't give her any other details (not surprising) and told her she needed to test within 72 hours and asked for her address to send a test out.

She gave it, then they asked for a payment card! She said that she thought it was free but they just said 'No, I'm afraid not' and again asked for her card details. It was only then she realised it was a scam and hung up.

This person is only an acquaintance from a group I'm in, so it may or may not be real but it wouldn't surprise me as it's a great opportunity for scammers. Particularly if when asking for card details they say they need it for security to 'verify your identity'. I know a number of people who would fall for this without thinking.

This is a fairly well known scam, we've been warning people at work about it for a few months now.
