To wonder why redundancy process is taking so long?

Consultation period of 2 weeks now passed. Redundancy definitely happening. Boss said it will be several phone calls more until they want my sister in for the final meeting. Why the hold up? Also, when can she expect her final redundancy pay, will it be straight after the final meeting?

My experience was that you didn't get the redundancy payout until you actually left. This was after receiving and signing a letter on my redundancy terms. The bastards made me work 2 out of my 3 months notice after making me redundant which was fucking bizzare. I just spent most of the time sat at my desk surfing the internet. I got my redundancy pay in my final monthly pay packet, along with the remainder of my notice and any leave I had not taken.
