Saw an advert for 'Little Mix' concert going ahead in I think March?
Isn't that overly optimistic to expect it to go ahead?

I hope it's not overly optimistic, but who knows.

WhatHaveIFound · 27/09/2020 09:55

I think it's being definitely optimistic to think that concerts as big as Little Mix will go ahead in March.

DD has tickets for a small gig in March (already postponed twice) and theatre tickets for June. I've warned her not to get her hopes up for either of them going ahead.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 27/09/2020 10:02

I suspect it’s more about forming a contract between venues, promotors and band management.

Venues often arrange programmes 12-18 months in advance, I know the general public think concerts magically appear when tickets go on sale but there really is a lot of talking going on before bands can say hay every one go and buy our tickets.

So by having the venue booked even if the government do say “no remain closed” the venue can’t say oh we’re getting more money because a.n.rockhand who we can charge more for are coming in so we’re not giving you a rearranged date. Because that would be breaking the contract

Yes LM will probably have to rearrange, I suspect their management and promotors know it but it just means their in a contract with the venues so they’d be First in line for a date either later in 2021 or 22

We've got tickets for next April and October. Not counting on either of them going ahead tbh

userxx · 27/09/2020 10:45

Can't see it happening at all. I'd love to be proved wrong 🤞

Witchend · 27/09/2020 11:00

I've got tickets for next July (Six). I think that will happen, but I refused to go for March.

TidyDancer · 27/09/2020 11:09

I had tickets for February which have just been cancelled. Also something scheduled for June which I have my doubts about. I'd like to be proved wrong.

megletthesecond · 27/09/2020 11:11

March is too soon IMO.

I haven't even heard about rescheduled billie Eilish dates yet.

It depends how many tickets they're selling. I don't think we will see sell out arena tickets for a long time, but perhaps concerts where seats are left empty for social distancing could start to go ahead - I know there are some outdoor concerts at the moment where seating is marked out and people have to remain in their seats.

Honestly though, it's sad, because I think being in a massive crowd who all LOVE the same band as you is part of the fun. If it's a half empty or even less than that arena and all you're allowed to do is sit politely and watch, it really does take all of the fun out of it.

Nothing 'normal' will happen until we have a vaccine I don't think.

As @NaughtToThreeSadOnions said, it's all to do with venues/contracts & that kind of thing.

I doubt anyone expects it to actually happen in Narch & if they do, they're bloody deluded!

I think we'll be lucky to have some kinds of SD outdoor concerts in the summer
