Am I the only person who can’t find a black teenage boy’s school coat online?

I’ve searched threads and various boards. Are you all sorted for a coat or just given up? DS is 170cm tall so I guess it’s going to be age 15-16 or mens. But where are the school coats that aren’t heavy, fit over a blazer and are water resistant? He wants something warmer than the kind of football Nike or Adidas thin waterproof he’s got.

Try Superdry. Lots of different style coats suitable for what you've described, depends on the length you want.

Just got a warm waterproof coat from Trespass - got Small men's size for tall 13yo. Lots on sale at the moment.

I bought a Nicce one in tkmaxx. Warm, DS deigns to wear it. Wins all round!

I found some good ones online at Next and Debenhams. I have found that there is not much around for boys/young men who are a bit too big for age 12 but too small for men's clothes. My DS's school are super fussy, so he is not allowed any logos or fur around the hood.

Does a black teenage boy need a special coat.

North Face are popular round here. My ds who's a similar age is in the "no coat club"

This "plain black coat" for school makes me so cross. ALL coats, but especially kids coats, should have a massive amount of reflective material on them. We should be making kids stand out as they walk home in the dark, not disappear into the gloom.

Thanks loads for the suggestions, very helpful especially with specifics. I usually like Next but this year the kids’ coats seem quite cumbersome. Budget under £100. Can’t have big logos either. Really appreciate the help.

This one from Next is excellent. Properly waterproof, but doesn't look like a naff anorak, and it's fleece lined, but is lightweight and not bulky at all. Highly recommend.

It's suprisingly warm as well.

Absolutely, the brighter the better!

I got a men’s plain black coat from Sainsbury’s for mine. They rarely wear them anyway

My 6ft teen has 3 black coats that fit over his blazer. First 2 from sports direct 3rd one which is his fav is just from h&m mens range
