2 colds in 2 weeks.

DS went back to school a few weeks ago. After 6 months to virtually no illnesses he caught a stinking cold. It was going around his clothes. I think 20 out of 30 of them had time as they were under the weather with it. But it was just colds thankfully.

DS seemed to be affected badly. No fever but very snotty and ended up with a hacking cough and had to get a covid test done - negative. He always gets terrible coughs with a cold.

He's gone back to school and picked up another cold (or maybe not quite over the last one which started 2 weeks ago today)

Aibu to he annoyed that if they cannot control colds spreading how are they going to control covid??

Is it possible to get 2 colds in 2 weeks or is it likely he's not fully over the last one??

YABU

It’s inevitable, especially since they haven’t socialised in ages their immune system won’t be used to it.

If this cold affects him like the first one he'll be coughing his guts up again and needing another covid test. I feel done with all this already 😭😭

Yup we are on test 4 🤬 all negatives but some due to terrible cough (in hindsight I think it was croup) and then 3 lots of temps around 39!!

What a nightmare. Hoping this time it will be short lived. Seems to miss the cough he's only snotty for a day or two! Fingers crossed!

Schools can't control the spread of viruses. All this stuff about extra cleaning and not bringing in book bags and lunch being in disposable bags is all window dressing - when you have 30 children sitting right next to each other in cramped, poorly ventilated classrooms all viruses are going to spread.

My boys caught a cold after 3 days and another illness with a temp. I believe covid spreads as easily as a cold. No hope
