Pasta, rice or potatoes

If you could only chose one for the rest of your lives which would it be? Pasta for me all day long 😋

I love rice. But properly cooked rice, not boil in the bag, etc.

Hmm, I think I'm going to go all Dominic Cummings over this. I'll nod at your rules, then do what's best for my family. Actually, no scrap that. That means rice, which I can live without. I'll do what's right for me, and ignore the rules and have potato and pasta - and if you make it so my tesco clubcard prevents the purchase of both, I'll grow my own potatoes.

Rice, I eat it at least once a day, sometimes twice or three times.

Sometimes 3 times a day @Rigi?!! Wow I think rice deserves at least 2 points in the league for this! Tell me more. What do you eat it with?

East Asian household so a 3x a day would be something like soup, rice and fish for breakfast, lunchbox with rice and side dishes, like egg and veg and pickles. Tea rice with things like curry or again various different side dishes! We love rice

I eat more rice and I absolutely love rice

But nothing quite beats the potato mash, new with mint and butter, jacket and of course roast

Love pasta too but can go for weeks without it it’s more of a convenience food

Ok @Rigi here’s the deal..... I am willing to forgo my pasta on the condition that I can move in with you. AND.......wait for it...... I will leave my teenagers at home AND I will do all the washing up. Sound fair!

Potatoes for me but do also like rice a lot. I could live without pasta. These days I find pasta very bloating.

I grew up in the US coastal South so rice for me every time all the time. I love rice.

Potatoes. Chips, wedges, jackets, crisps, potatoes dauphinoises, roast potatoes, potato gnocchi, mash with gravy, potato cakes, hash browns, cottage pie, fish pie, patatas bravas, bombay potatoes, Jersey Royals...

I like pasta and rice, but there's really no contest imo.

Deal, I use a ridiculous amount of dishes, so lots of washing up, so you may regret that!

Rice, I eat it daily, I have eaten it everyday of my life since weaning apart from two weeks in early lockdown when we ran out.

They're all just starchy stuff to me @Angelina82, and potatoes don't count towards my 5 a day (or 15 a day!).
If you're getting the thumbscrews out to force me to choose, then I would opt for the potato, but day to day, I don't eat any of these.😊

Rice. I don't like potatoes and can take or leave pasta but would happily eat rice every single day. I never run out. I buy 10kg at a time!
