If you could only chose one for the rest of your lives which would it be? Pasta for me all day long 😋

Brown rice all the way

Cinderellashoes · 25/09/2020 09:34

Potatoes! A hot jacket potato with butter is so comforting!

micc · 25/09/2020 09:34

Oh it would be tough between pasta and potatoes.. it would have to be pasta

SchrodingersImmigrant · 25/09/2020 09:34

Potatoes!
You can eat them million different ways AND it makes vodka😁

OverTheRainbow88 · 25/09/2020 09:36

Ooh what a hard decision.

Ummm probably potatoes!

Could you have sauces with the pasta?!

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 25/09/2020 09:39

Potatoes by miles.

A friend of mine lost all her baby weight by cutting out bread, pasta and potatoes and was quite evangelical about it for ages - made me realise how much I love potatoes!

Also my youngest won't eat pasta or rice - never has, no matter what - so we only have pasta or rice once per week and I honestly wouldn't miss them much now.

As others say pasta especially is just empty carbs with very little nutritional value - potatoes are much better (fibre, vitamin C, potassium).

Lolalime · 25/09/2020 09:39

Potatoes 😍

Eyewhisker · 25/09/2020 09:39

Potatoes. They have much more nutritional value - vit C, iron and protein. A diet of potatoes, oats and milk sounds boring but is nutritionally complete.

CorianderLord · 25/09/2020 09:42

Omg, no.

I think... rice. I love rice. Sushi, risotto, rice noodles, plain rice, spicy rice. Rice and mango. Rice.

Do love pasta tho.... wonder if there's a rice pasta?

Disappointedkoala · 25/09/2020 09:46

Potatoes. A life without chips just isn't worth it.

TheDuchessofMalfy · 25/09/2020 09:50

None of these is a top favourite for me.

I like them all ok but vary between them because none is that exciting.

I guess potatoes because of jacket potatoes.

pinkbalconyrailing · 25/09/2020 09:52

potatos

I like pasta, but potatos are more versatile (and you could even make some kinds of pasta out of it)

rice I can take or leave.

BackforGood · 25/09/2020 09:52

Has to be potatoes because that means you can have chips, or wedges as well as having boiled or mash. It gives you topping to a cottage pie or fish pie. It gives you a whole meal in itself as a jacket potato.

We do eat pasta a lot as it is easy when cooking midweek after work, but no potatoes rules out too many options.

I could put potatoes in to virtually every meal where I now use pasta but couldn't put pasta into every meal where I use potatoes.

Yummyplainscones · 25/09/2020 09:53

Potatoes. I love chips, roasties, mash, boiled you can’t beat em!

Sojo88 · 25/09/2020 09:53

Pasta! Love pasta - surprised not many others seem to! Shock

pinkbalconyrailing · 25/09/2020 09:53

yep, there is pasta made from rice in the gluten free section.
Yummyplainscones · 25/09/2020 09:53

Oh and I forgot jackets too!

Hurtandupset2 · 25/09/2020 09:55

Potatoes 🥔 as they're more versatile than the other 2 choices....potato gratin, potato rosti, mashed potato, chips, roasties, efc. 😋

MsEllany · 25/09/2020 09:56

Gotta be spuds. So many ways to cook them. I do love both pasta and rice, but I wouldn’t choose to eat either with just seasonings whereas with potatoes I would.

To quote Samwise Gamgee. “Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew!” Grin

Juno231 · 25/09/2020 09:57

rice aaaaaall day long

FiveShelties · 25/09/2020 09:58

Definitely potatoes so versatile, then rice and finally pasta.

CoralFish · 25/09/2020 09:59

Potatoes. Or maybe pasta if it's fresh pasta. But probably still potatoes. Rice and dried pasta can take a hike.

Spied · 25/09/2020 10:01

Rice is my favourite food although if for forever I'd choose potatoes for their versatility.

PenguinsOnParade · 25/09/2020 10:02

Pasta then rice as second choice. There are so many types of pasta and different ways to have it, and if you add in the option of making your own that I doubt I'd ever get bored of it.

While I know they're even more versatile, I don't actually like potatoes all that much, not even chips so we very rarely have them in the house. When we do it's usually a 4 pack of baking potatoes and mine will usually have more cheese than potato so I can eat it.

badamsgirl · 25/09/2020 10:04

Potatoes. I love all 3, but i couldn't live without cheesy potatoes!
