I’m really low about my eating

I can’t stop eating and I feel disgusted with myself. Came back from work, had dinner at 6pm and straight after I’ve finished a whole packet of biscuits just now. It took me less than 5 minutes to eat a whole, brand new packet. I feel sick and fed up of eating my emotions away. I look like I’m 6 months pregnant (definitely not). I start a diet every week. This week I thought I’ll just eat healthy and ditch the diet idea BUT I have actually eaten more than usual. Please help me

Come over to the 5:2/ FAST 800 board. Lots of support and diet really works (and is as easy as diets get). Chin up!

I have done that so many times. I joined Noom and bought a Peloton which has really helped.

First of all, be gentle with yourself, not disgusted. You deserve to show yourself the same care and support you would give to a friend who was struggling.

Emotional eating is really hard to address without fixing the underlying issues. Often it’s a symptom of emptiness, low self-esteem, unfulfilment or anxiety.

If you are struggling with these things, it is always a good idea to talk to your GP or to look into counselling sessions. It can really be life changing Flowers

I felt like that 2 weeks ago and joined the fast800 thread here and am down lots of lbs and also feeling and looking much better. Instead of feeling bad use that feeling to do something to feel good. I found the first few days tough but getting into it now.

Thank you all! Can someone please link the 800 fast thread I’ve heard mentioned by a PP?

I have had counselling but unfortunately I didn’t feel it worked. I have a lot of issues at the moment and I am eating my emotions away. I

Can you try not having the food in the house so you physically can't get to it? It's making you miserable as well as overweight by the sounds of things; so not "comfort" eating at all.

If you don't buy it, you can't eat it.

Eckhart · 24/09/2020 21:57

Would it make you feel any better if you set your alarm early tomorrow and go for a walk for an hour?

I hear you OP. Despite having pasta for tea, I've eaten toast and two chocolate bars. Last night I had four bowls of cereal. I do ok during the day but at night it's like I can't stop myself. Definitely anxiety, was reading threads on here about covid and reaching for the chocolate made it a bit better. I have small DC so by the time they're asleep I'm in the mood to 'treat' myself.

What helps me:
Having DH around. Tonight he's ill so he went to bed when the DC did. When we watch TV or spend time together, I don't binge, because I'd be embarrassed doing it in front of another person.

Having a bath. Once I'm out the urge isn't there and I just want to get into bed.

Calling a friend or family member to pass the time.

These don't always work but they lessen the chances of me going wild with food! Could any of them help you,?
