To think con artists aren't as easy to spot

I name changed.

I've always thought I was smart enough to not be trapped by con artist.

Handsome, articulate but "between contracts"
He fleeced me £100 within two weeks of meeting. Fake name and address.

His undoing was when he wanted a further £1000 loan in the 3rd week. I started questioning, he disappeared for the weekend, but his phone accidentally dialled and heard his voice at what sounded like a party or pub. I instinctively searched this number and a different name came up, I googled the name and a Facebook profile with his picture came up. He texted on a Monday to say he was arrested over the weekend. I replied with his correct name and blocked him. That was in 2017, I still at times feel like a mug even though it was just £100.

Anyone else ever been conned?
NB: English as a second language

I’m sorry it happened. It happens to a lot of people, you aren’t alone.

Try and move forward and leave it behind you. You were stung, but it could’ve been much worse Flowers
