To wait till morning re medication rash

I took fluconazole yesterday as I've got thrush from antibiotics. I've come up in a rash this evening. It's not terrible but itchy and getting worse. Sort of small bumps randomly occurring over my skin. The info leaflet lists a rash as common but then it also says to speak to a doctor immediately if you have an ichy rash. (I assume in case of allergy)

Obviously it's midnight so I just want to go to sleep. Would you be worried about this? I feel like if I was having an allergic reaction it would have happened before now.

I began to be allergic to penicillin when I was about 18. I think it might have been triggered by a really strong dosage I had to take for a quinsy.

I’d wait, unless you start feeling short of breath.

Yeah I'm thinking unless I feel unwell I'm OK. I'm literally under 5 min from a and e where I live! So can get there ASAP if needed. However not feeling very relaxed and ready for sleep as I'm bloody itchy.

It is starting to get more itchy though! And spreading don't know what to do!

I did as well. Same drug, illness, and age as you. Never had a reaction to it before previously.

I used piraton when I developed an allergy to ibuprofen as advised by the pharmacist. He told me to go to a and e if no improvement within an hour.

It’s keeping you awake. I’d seek medical
Advice.

Have you got any allergy meds in the house and have you had a dose?

Feelingconfused2020 · 24/09/2020 02:22

If you are still awake now I'd phone 111. The out of hours GP can probably help you rather than a&e. In our area they're based at the hospital anyway.

The leaflet says see a GP, you can't sleep and it's getting worse so no I wouldn't wait 6 more hours.

Plussizejumpsuit · 24/09/2020 03:37

Thanks. Got a bit of restless sleep but I've woken up again and it's worse. So spoken to 111 and I'm waiting for a call from the out of hours GP. They're based at the hospital near my house so hope if I need to see someone it's there.
