Is there anyone out there who has a toddler that lies in

My toddler (16 months) sleeps 7pm till 10-11am they sometimes play for 30 mins at 7am and will doze right off again. Has been doing this for a month. All my friends are really shocked, is this quite unusual?

One of mine has had long sleeps like that, but earlier on, like falling asleep at 4/5pm and sleeping until 7ish, especially after nursery/childminder when I'd barely see him at all. He's never been big on naps though, just joins it all together into one long sleep. It was never every day, though, and for a while we had a problem finding nappies for that length of time that wouldn't leak!

Honestly I would be a little worried if this continued more than 2 or 3 months. That's a huge amount of sleep. Most of the children I know who "lie-in" are put to bed quite a lot later (9 or 10pm) or do not nap at all, so get all their sleep in one go.

I'd also be a bit wary that the reason their weight percentile is higher than height is because they are not getting enough time awake to burn off energy from food.

Worth a brief chat to the GP at least.

Dd1 did.
Dd2 thought 4am was a good time for play.
Ds has just learnt to lie in beyond 7am. He's 13yo.
