Work - back from May leave

Context - So I came back to work at the end of August. Busy, public sector. I was acting up on a higher position but they have been reduced and I’m waiting to find out today whether il keep acting up or going back down to my substantive post. I’m genuinely fine either way as the other candidates for the higher post are exceptional so no hard feelings at all.

While I was on leave my manager moved on to a different sector and another manager made a horizontal move to be my manager. I know them, good relationship and so had no worries about coming back.

But since coming back I feel like I’m being ghosted like a bad tinder date! I get I’m in between roles and not my new managers priority right now. I would be happy with a quick email once a week just checking in that I’m ok and got things to do.

But Instead I get

  • run around re the Rota to go in the office. Literally no will take ownership for getting me on it which means I’m always at home. They all want to be in the office.
  • I have emailed my manager and colleagues for work. Nothing. For the first few days I took initiative and found things to do but it’s getting past a joke now.
  • they forget to invite me to team meetings, when they do literally no one acknowledged I was back.
  • i was asked by colleagues whether I have thought if it is time to move and thinking about working in a different (geographical area). Me stepping down effects them so part of me understands they want me to piss off but it was upsetting for them to blatantly suggest I leave.
I don’t expect banners, I don’t need a lot of attention and I get that things have moved on and their priority is keeping the business on the ground moving.

So basically I’m at home, with my laptop and I hear from virtually no one.

I feel so tearful. I’m mad at myself for caring because I’m pretty good at being independent but I realised today that I could have disappeared for 12 days before my manager would notice - the time inbetween any contact.

Aibu unreasonable for being upset by this or am I being precious? I can take the truth but please go a little softer on me as I really am feeling shitty. Thanks guys!
