Hi just posting for traffic - but is it crazy to book a children’s birthday party right now I even am outdoor one at a regulated party centre? DS also asking for sleepover with about six kids. I’ve said no as only one allowed just now. I really don’t want to break rules, I definitely won’t. He just bloody loves birthdays and parties, he’s so full of enthusiasm it’s a bit of a shame to dampen it down. . Tough luck I know but it’s hard not to gave these fleeting moments of disappointment isn’t it. Anyway I digress - would it be crazy given the potential for another lockdown to book anything. Birthday in a couple of weeks

Only book if you can get a full refund if you need to cancel.

Will they be taking bookings for more than six people? They shouldn't be.

Talk to the party center. If it's cancelled due to covid reasons, then you shouldn't have to pay. Talk to some mums and see if they are interested, but let them know it may be cancelled at the last minute. Tell your son that you will try and organise something but can't make any promises and if it can't be done, then you will reschedule for when things are better. At least that is what I would do. 🤷‍♀️

In my sons childhood we did parties, but it got very expensive and exhausting, We stopped at 10 years old and instead I spent the money on better presents and took them out to cinema and restaurants, maybe taking along one friend.
