Sent home from school/ isolation?

Confirmed asymptomatic case in ds’s class. They all got sent home.
He’s just set up a WhatsApp group with his mates and 5 of them have been out today !

We had plans yesterday that I cancelled and won’t be going anywhere. School reverts back to remote learning
I don’t understand, these kids have been in direct contact with a confirmed case and they’re out on bike rides and poor ds is stuck in with me, no-one else.

Have they officially been told to isolate by public health?

That’s why the 1k fines have been introduced. Because people are not self isolating when it’s requested

Public health makes the decision on school/class closures. If school tell people to self isolate they are passing on the message from public health. It wouldn't make sense to then ask the track and trace team to add an extra couple of hundred people to their call back list when the school will have the ability to contact near enough 100% of the contacts in one go.

We're in the same situation. Ds is off for 2 weeks self isolating as a kid in his childcare bubble has covid, a full class in his year at school are off too.

I don't know if any of the other kids have been out playing but my ds is really miserable stuck at home. He understands why though and we will stick to rules and keep him home.

I just don’t understand
I’m here worrying, symptom spotting and their kids are out passing it on.
Who says one of them didn’t actually pass it on to her, who says they haven’t all got it?

Quick question, if the kid was asymptomatic how did he get tested?

Child was tested as their parent was tested as they are a key worker

They could get a massive fine if anyone squeals on them.
