To eat tofu from Chinese when it's been out since last night?

Will I get poisoning? It's been pretty mild today all day. Tofu in satay sauce. Hate to waste it but can't afford to be ill. I need to say "so long " don't I?

I would. Many wouldn’t.

AestheticWitch · 17/09/2020 19:14

I would as its plant based, I wouldn't if it was meat.

CremeEggThief · 17/09/2020 19:15

Probably!

WarmSausageTea · 17/09/2020 19:15

If it’s been covered, it’s probably fine. If not, I’d bin it.

Vigoro · 17/09/2020 19:16

I'd get rid.

MiddleClassProblem · 17/09/2020 19:16

I would

KylieKoKo · 17/09/2020 19:16

I would but also would it it was meat. I think we waste huge amounts of food because we're paranoid about germs

Bunnymumy · 17/09/2020 19:17

Itll be fine. Heat it well.

MTNT · 17/09/2020 19:17

Absolutely no chance.

Catsarelush · 17/09/2020 19:18

Definitely not.

DollyDoneMore · 17/09/2020 19:18

Of course you can eat it.

EatDessertFirst · 17/09/2020 19:22

Grim. Cooked food left out of the fridge for hours? No.

You'll get posters telling you to sniff it (a lot of food poisoning bacteria doesn't cause bad smell), it'll be fine because its plant based (not true, cooked food rules still apply), that threy have eaten loads of left out minging food and never been ill etc etc.

Why take the chance? Bin it.

Plussizejumpsuit · 17/09/2020 19:25

Long time vegetarian I would Grin

FelicityBeedle · 17/09/2020 19:26

I would meat or not, it’s a chance I’m willing to take and I’ve not had food poisoning yet

MitziK · 17/09/2020 19:26

@KylieKoKo

I would but also would it it was meat. I think we waste huge amounts of food because we're paranoid about germs
I'm on biologics. My 'paranoia' about such things is grounded in reality.

I wouldn't because it was warm overnight and warm today and it would have been warm itself beforehand; tofu and accompaniments are a great food source for bacteria.

MrsWooster · 17/09/2020 19:28

Yes, it’ll probably be fine. I did the same with meatloaf a couple of weeks ago.

AntiHop · 17/09/2020 19:44

I wouldn't.

buttcrackmcheese · 17/09/2020 19:45

Totes would, and do

SquitMcJit · 17/09/2020 19:47

@MrsWooster Yes, it’ll probably be fine. I did the same with meatloaf a couple of weeks ago

Did either of you get food poisoning? Smile

cariadlet · 17/09/2020 19:53

I would. We don't often have leftovers from a Chinese but have often eaten leftover Indian food.

Never bother putting it in the fridge, don't reheat and have never been ill.

Whatthebloodyell · 17/09/2020 19:58

I wouldn’t. I often forget and leave stuff out overnight, but I wouldn’t eat it if it had been hanging around all day too. Maybe if it was in the depths of winter I would tell myself that the kitchen was as cold as the fridge, but after a warm day like today I couldn’t.

polkadotpjs · 17/09/2020 20:30

I leaned on the side of caution and haven't eaten it. It felt decidedly room temperature and not cool
