Apparently people should stop carping about testing and praise the Government for what they've achieved so far.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-54194333

It's a crap and patronising strategy.

Government completely misses it's own seemingly random testing targets, screws up availability, consistently gives out confusing and contradictory information and instruction, but instead of complaining people are supposed to applaud them for running a full-on three-ring circus complete with exploding clowncars and trousers that fall down on cue?

"carping"?

Yes, go fuck yourself Mogg you utter piece of scum.

Gooseysgirl · 17/09/2020 18:04

YANBU the whole thing is a fucking joke. As for JRM... a twunt of the highest order

TheSandman · 17/09/2020 18:05

My next T shirt.

WrongKindOfFace · 17/09/2020 18:14

What have they achieved that’s worthy of praise?

Pepperwort · 17/09/2020 18:31

The last time Europe had leaders that were so out of touch with the daily travails and needs of the ordinary people was the time of Enclosure in England, and that of Marie Antoinette in France. Yes JRM you utter cretin it’s easy to self-isolate in stately homes that were fully paid for three centuries ago.

Failed PPE

Dubious contacts given to Tory Donors and those involved in the Leave Campaign

Failed IT apps

Failed Track and Trace

Failed Testing

No Deal likely to happen

I could go on and on but I'm just preparing for the Zombie apocalypse now.

StealthPolarBear · 17/09/2020 18:38

Give me five mins and I'm sure I can add to that list :o

Deciding that the middle of a pandemic is the perfect time to reform public health in England and announcing it by leaking it to the Sunday telegraph

chomalungma · 17/09/2020 19:35

This is what he said:

We all have an obligation to try to stop a dangerous disease spreading, but we have gone from a disease that nobody knew about a few months ago to one where nearly a quarter of a million people a day can be tested, and the Prime Minister expects that to rise to half a million by the end of the October.

Instead of this endless carping, with people saying it is difficult to get them, we should be celebrating this phenomenal success of the British nation in getting up to a quarter of a million tests for a disease that nobody knew about until earlier in the year.

That is a success of our society, our health experts and our Administration. Yes, there is demand for more; yes, demand exceeds supply, but the supply is increasing and what has been done is really rather remarkable and something we should be proud of.

chomalungma · 17/09/2020 19:38

Oh -and he has confused test capacity with people being tested.

Because 1 person may use more than 1 test at a time

So, in summary:

“Shut up, proles; we aren’t used to being challenged by the likes of you.

chomalungma · 17/09/2020 20:19

This is the same person who when talking about Grenfell

"Rees-Mogg has a reputation for insensitive remarks. Last year, he apologised after widespread criticism over comments in the Commons where he said victims of the Grenfell Tower had not used “common sense” as they did not leave the burning building, instead following fire service advice to remain in their flats"

That strategy got Trump elected.

Given their choices are the above or: engaging with the detail of criticisms, being honest about weaknesses and engaging with front line staff to work out how to improve things; I think think they will stick with the current plan because it sounds like less work.

OpenlyGayExOlympicFencer · 18/09/2020 06:58

It is completely laughable, but then some people genuinely are that dim and bootlicking. It'll be aimed at the sort of person who shared that photo of Boris supposedly crying.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/09/2020 07:03

I might have known it was Lord Snooty who said this. The sort of face worth denting your frying pan for.
