Will Social Services get involved?

Posting in herw for traffic sorry. After a minor altercation online someone has taken photos of my son of my Facebook and put threatening emojis over his face and sent them to me as well as a lot of abusive messages to myself. The police are classing it as harassment and malicious communication and want me to pop into the station to give evidence. Will Social Services get involved or come for a visit my son? Is it classed as a threat?

I assume the police are treating it as harassment and malicious communication with you/your son as victims? In which case there would be no role for social services. If they think your son was involved and are investigating his as the perpetrator I’d expect they would submit a referral to social services who would (in my area) want to speak to you and your son. Where in the U.K. are you because if you’re in Scotland social services would have a role if your son was being charged, but I don’t think that’s the case elsewhere.
