AIBU to think people who refuse to fill in track and trace details for restaurants, cafes and pubs because they don't want to self isolate should be forced to quarantine until their behaviour changes? So annoyed by friends who openly refuse to do it because they cannot self isolate and aren't worried about putting vulnerable people at risk because vulnerable people should be staying home at all times during the pandemic. Fuck the vulnerable, they should all be furloughed and not leaving their houses.

I left a queue for a pub meal when I witnessed a cockwomble fill in the wrong name and number. The person who he was with commented that was wrong and they replied "yeah but I don't want to isolate" pub staff didn't mention it and took them to a table so I walked out.
It's an absolute joke and will only work if everyone does their bit

I agree about those who are deliberately being dicks.
I do give my details when required, but I can't self-isolate, even if they contacted me.

@Freddiefox Where I have been it states the time on the barcode app - so I can select two hours and I was asked each time we ordered how long we had been there and whether we were still within our "time slot".

I thought this was universal?

@AmIAWeed We walked out of a pub the other day when a staff member asked us to stand a metre away because he had been told to self isolate. i am still waiting for a call back from the manager regarding that.

@MrsMomoa with all due respect if you can't isolate why are you going to places at a higher risk of spreading Covid?

Eat out to help out and all that.
Am I supposed to stay in my house forever?
Am I not entitled to go outside?

It is my employer that informed me that I cannot self-isolate due to track and trace.
Only if myself or a member of my household has symptoms.

I work with vulnerable young people.
If all the staff isolate, are they to fend for themselves??

I went to work during the lockdown.
Schools where young people have EHCP's have never closed.

I’d agree with you if it were possible to have some faith in the system, and believe that if you got a call from track and trace that it was because there was a genuine risk. Unfortunately, having seen how some places are taking details from people I don’t have faith in it. There’s also the fact that even if you do get a call you can’t get a test. People shouldn’t be expected to put their lives on hold for any more time just in case.

If you’re lucky enough to be able to take more time out of life without it being disproportionately detrimental to yourself or those around you, then you carry on. Not all of us are in that position.

Merely following my employers guidelines, as per the Local Authority.

Maybe it it’s now, but last week it was just a scan on the phone to say what time you arrived, which is fine, but I want to be able to register what time I leave too.

I don't think you can seriously expect people to stay at home and not go out for the next year or possibly longer.

I can't be arsed to care. If the venue is 'covid secure' then there shouldn't be enough contact to allow transmission, anyway.

I don’t think your employer are suggesting you break the law, they are probably trying to gently remind you that you have a responsibility to the vulnerable young people in your care!
I also work in a school - I do not want to isolate because of track and trace so I’ve stopped eating out. It’s not rocket science!

And that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped going out! And I’m looking forward to half term when I will go out to celebrate my 50th!

Our employers guidance came from the government.
Health and social care settings are exempt.
If I get contacted about track and trace, the LA will do a risk assessment.
It's not an immediate self-isolate situation unless myself or a member of my family has symptoms.

So you actually could self isolate - it would just be done on an LA risk assessment.

Berate your friends for not leaving their details in a restaurant
Treat people who don’t wear masks with disdain
Eyeball people who stand too close.

It’s so depressing. We are so paranoid.

I can only self-isolate if my employer and the LA say I can.
It's not automatic.
Just pointing out that it's not all black and white.
It's not as clear cut as people may think.
If the LA has deemed it low risk, then I'll still be at work.

I'm not paranoid, I am pissed off people are choosing not to act responsibly and when challenged state the most vulnerable members of our communities should take the hit by just staying inside.
